~The Weekend~

Well Eric and I were excited to share our first weekend at home as a married couple! haha I know what your thinking..but I am not counting last weekend because I was soo sick and could hardly move! So it doesnt count haha
No I am so grateful for Eric for taking care of me. Getting sick is just part of the up's and down's :)
So back to the weekend, we had a ton of fun! Saturday we did a lot of cleaning and shopping. With the gift cards we got from family and friends we were able to buy our first toaster, yey! Among other items. I reallllly enjoyed the shopping part haha.... Eric is soo patient :)
Saturday night we had a little get together and watched UFC 133! Evans vs Ortiz

Unfortunately the guy we were rooting for lost :( But we ate lots of pizza and good food!
I made this dessert...

Sopapilla Cheesecake..Sooo yummmy! And easy to make! I got the recipe from myyellowumbrella.blogspot.com. It was a hit!

I am excited to announce that we finished our first home project! Well I shouldnt say we...LOL Eric and my Dad installed a doggy door! I just sat there and took pictures and watched shark week re-runs haha But I gave them much positive encouragement! Here is a picture of Eric hard at work

Hes such a cutie!
This will be one step closer to having Duke stay with us permanentely. Our next goal is to clean the carpets this weekend. I know your asking..why would you clean the carpets before? Lets just say Duke feels the need to mark his territory after smelling the other male dogs scents around the house :( We miss you squint and Buster!
So hopefully we can get the carpet detail done and Duke can move in!
Also...I am hoping this next weekend to bake this..!
mmmmmmmmmmm...cant wait!

Ragnar Relay!

So for those of you who haven't heard of the Ragnar Relay, its a team race in which several participants run certain parts of a 100+ miles. Well..I participated in the Logan to Park City relay this last weekend and it was c-razy! I and several other family members and friends covered 192 miles across the Wasatch Back in Utah. It was exhausting to say the least but soo much fun! The picture above is Van 1. Marty and his wife Kim are on the left, then Kate, Joe then I and my future sister in law Katie! This picture was taken at the beginning of our adventure. Marty was our first runner and we all got to cheer him on at the start. Van 2 wasn't present at the beginning because they didn't need to meet us till later that afternoon for their legs of the race.
If any of you have never tried this type of race I suggest you do if your up for it! It's such an adventure finding your way to each leg and supporting each other every step of the way. I felt very lucky to have such amazing people in my van including Eric! He rode along for the entire race start to finish! He was our volunteer which was also a challenging job to say the least.
Here's some other pictures of the beginning..

Our huge van we rode in, our team name was Trail Dawgz

Haha Eric in his doorag hehe. He wanted to join in the festivities.

We finally finished the race last Saturday around 6:30. We were exhausted as you could imagine! But all in all well worth the time and energy.

My favorite one of all hehe, he's such a cutie!

Home Renovations!

Needless to say I am so thrilled to be moving into a home. Eric did an amazing job at picking the perfect home a little over a year ago in an awesome location (with the help of Katie). The neighbors are super nice and the environment is very laid back. Our (my future home :D) home is located in Lehi and is far enough from the busyness to create a small town sort of atmosphere, I love it!
I am way excited to decorate and make it our comfortable environment away from the world. A home to me is somewhere where you feel like you can relax but also reflects your personal style.
Eric has been so kind to let me start decorating and begin creating this atmosphere for us. Soo.. I have attached the beginning of my before and after photos for all of you too see!

*Please excuse the messiness in the photos!*

So these pics above are from the master bedroom. Eric and I moved his bed to this location in the room recently between the two windows which I felt was a nice fit. A few weeks after that I bought a bedspread and then last weekend we put the bed on cinder blocks. Haha I know cinder blocks seems a bit extreme but its for my precious Duke (my dog). Duke insists on sleeping under my bed at night but unfortunately Eric's bed wasn't tall enough so hence the cinder blocks :) Pics below

haha I wish I put the comforter on straight!

Much..much higher!

And for those of you who dont know Duke...here's some pics :)

I am now working on painting Eric's end table/night stands so I will be posting pics soon!
