Ragnar Relay!

So for those of you who haven't heard of the Ragnar Relay, its a team race in which several participants run certain parts of a 100+ miles. Well..I participated in the Logan to Park City relay this last weekend and it was c-razy! I and several other family members and friends covered 192 miles across the Wasatch Back in Utah. It was exhausting to say the least but soo much fun! The picture above is Van 1. Marty and his wife Kim are on the left, then Kate, Joe then I and my future sister in law Katie! This picture was taken at the beginning of our adventure. Marty was our first runner and we all got to cheer him on at the start. Van 2 wasn't present at the beginning because they didn't need to meet us till later that afternoon for their legs of the race.
If any of you have never tried this type of race I suggest you do if your up for it! It's such an adventure finding your way to each leg and supporting each other every step of the way. I felt very lucky to have such amazing people in my van including Eric! He rode along for the entire race start to finish! He was our volunteer which was also a challenging job to say the least.
Here's some other pictures of the beginning..

Our huge van we rode in, our team name was Trail Dawgz

Haha Eric in his doorag hehe. He wanted to join in the festivities.

We finally finished the race last Saturday around 6:30. We were exhausted as you could imagine! But all in all well worth the time and energy.

My favorite one of all hehe, he's such a cutie!

Home Renovations!

Needless to say I am so thrilled to be moving into a home. Eric did an amazing job at picking the perfect home a little over a year ago in an awesome location (with the help of Katie). The neighbors are super nice and the environment is very laid back. Our (my future home :D) home is located in Lehi and is far enough from the busyness to create a small town sort of atmosphere, I love it!
I am way excited to decorate and make it our comfortable environment away from the world. A home to me is somewhere where you feel like you can relax but also reflects your personal style.
Eric has been so kind to let me start decorating and begin creating this atmosphere for us. Soo.. I have attached the beginning of my before and after photos for all of you too see!

*Please excuse the messiness in the photos!*

So these pics above are from the master bedroom. Eric and I moved his bed to this location in the room recently between the two windows which I felt was a nice fit. A few weeks after that I bought a bedspread and then last weekend we put the bed on cinder blocks. Haha I know cinder blocks seems a bit extreme but its for my precious Duke (my dog). Duke insists on sleeping under my bed at night but unfortunately Eric's bed wasn't tall enough so hence the cinder blocks :) Pics below

haha I wish I put the comforter on straight!

Much..much higher!

And for those of you who dont know Duke...here's some pics :)

I am now working on painting Eric's end table/night stands so I will be posting pics soon!

September 2010 we met...

Such an amazing 8 months! Well..8 months 7 days to be exact, that Eric and I have been together :) What an awesome journey.

For those of you who dont know how we met I thought I would share because its soo fun to tell!
In September of 2010 I had recently enrolled in a local gym called The Academy. The Academy is a mixed martial arts gym that offers classes such as muay thai kickboxing, ju jitsu, aerobic/exercise classes, pilates, yoga, and so forth. I had been recommended by a close friend to try the muay thai class and was a little hesitant to go but decided I would try it out. Come to find out in the class you need to bring your own boxing gloves and hand wraps..which I didnt have haha
So I introduced myself to the instructor and she lent me some gloves. Meanwhile...Eric must have noticed I was new and decided to help me ;)
He introduced himself and asked if this was my first class? I was like yes and I have no idea what I am doing haha. So he told me he'd show me the ropes and to follow his lead. He lent me some hand wraps and wrapped my hands for me..so cute! Then helped me throughout class with technique and encouragement. After we finished he exited the class room we were in and went to go hang or dry his wraps (you reuse them). I walked out and approached him and told him thanks again and began hanging my wraps too while . This is when he told me later on he knew he had me! haha Meaning I was interested ;) So he walked me out to my car and asked for my number which I gave of course! Our first date wasnt too much longer after and well its been the best months of my life, to say the least :)

Anyway I am excited to start this Blog and share with you what is happening in our lives, hopefully on a frequent basis! So Stay tuned..!

Much Love

Rochelle
